LEON MUGESERA IS UP TO HIS OLD TRICKS AGAIN.

Genocide suspect Leon Mugesera has written to the Minister of Justice seeking legal aid from the government to pay his lawyers. Nothing wrong there. The government will pay for indigent defendants who need legal representation.

But when it comes to Mugesera, beware. This is the man that played and abused the Canadian justice system fighting extradition for almost 16 years, filing appeal after appeal until his luck run out and the Canadians wised up to his tricks.

Mugesera says that when he was fighting extradition in Canada, the government paid his legal fees. True, and Rwanda is willing to do the same. But they will not succumb to his gimmicks, I hope.

Mugesera insists on hiring foreign, expensive lawyers. Not at tax payers’ expense. No way.

And interestingly, the man that gave that infamous insidious and racist speech in 1992 in fluent Kinyarwanda that is the basis of his legal problems wrote to the Minister of Justice in French.

See, Mugesera wants to distance himself from Kinyarwanda, thus distancing himself from the intent of his message in that infamous speech. Translation distorts the real message. Mugesera is no fool. Good try, Leon!

And, before that Mugesera tried another gimmick. He wanted to be tried in French!

I find this kinship to France nauseating and suspicious. Or should we read more from it?
